In the State of Florida, a registered agent is a business or individual designated to receive service of process (SOP) when a business entity is a party in a legal action such as a lawsuit, Subpoena for Records or summons. In Florida the Registered Agent function is also referred to as a resident agent or statutory agent, however Florida statutes call this function "registered agent." The Registered agent for a business entity can be an individual or more often a third party such as A. C. E., Inc Florida Agents, a lawyer or an accounting office.
