Personal Service by Process Server
Personal service is service of process directly to the entity named on the summons, complaint or petition. In most lawsuits, personal service upon a director, owner or authorized agent is required to prove service. An affidavit of service must be filed with the court immediately after service was made. The affidavit of service must comply specifically to Florida Law or it may be deemed invalid or could be quashed by opposing counsel. However, affidavits of service are easily amended, without jeopardizing the service.
